Like to feel you're living in the mountains yet just an hour from both Toulouse and Carcassonne airports? This lovely chalet is situated in the village of Fougax et Barrineuf, five minutes from the market town of Belesta and ten minutes from the much larger town of Lavelanet. Fougax itself has a small supermarket, post office, bar and restaurant.

The house was built by the owners some twenty years ago. It has five bedrooms, a very spacious living and dining room, fully-fitted kitchen, a shower room and a full bathroom, a utility room and summer kitchen, large garage and plenty of attic space in the eaves for storage.

The owner has a family furniture business so all the wood is top quality chestnut and red cedar and there are fitted cupboards throughout.

Impressive double doors lead to the entrance hall which has the fitted kitchen to one side and the living area to the other. All of these rooms are very light and airy as they all have French windows leading out to a south-facing terrace. Back downstairs, at the end of the entrance hall further double doors lead to two more bedrooms, a cloakroom and a large family bathroom.

A door from the kitchen leads to a passageway with lots of pantry storage. This goes through to the summer kitchen, which opens onto the garden. There is also a door to the garage and one down to the cellar. This runs the entire length of the house and also has direct access to the garden, so that all garden machinery can be kept down here.

The garden is flat and bordered by a pretty river.

The house has oil central heating and is double-glazed throughout.

It would make a lovely family home but could equally well be converted to a bed and breakfast business. The layout of the house lends itself to this and it is ideally situated just five minutes from Montsegur.
