 A well maintained village house, all you need to do is decorate and you don't have to do that right away.
The house is about 50 m2 on 3 levels. On the ground floor there's a sitting room, a shower room, and a small utility room. The first floor is a combination kitchen dining room and has a lovely big fireplace. Because the house is on a corner there are windows on two walls. The second floor has two bedrooms and a wc.
It's not big but it would make a lovely vacation home for one or two people or a permanent home for one person.
You really don't need to do anything to it ... BUT ... if you wanted to you could make the ground floor into a bedroom and make the small bedroom on the second floor into a terrace. And at this price, you could afford to! It's priced to sell.
Montlaur is a charming wine producing village about halfway between Carcassonne and Lagrasse. It has a cafe, a bakery, a small supermarket, a butcher, and a pharmacy. This part of the Corbieres is a beautiful combination of vineyards and garrigues. There is river swimming nearby and it's a terrific area for hiking, walking and cycling.
Carcassonne is about 25 minutes, Lagrasse about 20, Narbonne and the Mediterranean are about 45. |
